Google Effect Possible for ISPs?
by admin on Aug.30, 2008, under Internet
When Gmail was first announced, the amount of space that they offered was unheard of. Hotmail, which was one of the most popular free email sites at the time, offered space in terms of MB instead of GB. As more and more people migrated from using hotmail, among other free email providers, to Gmail, the only thing that these other companies/sites could do was to give in and try and match Google’s free services.
As more and more companies, such as AT&T – Uverse and Verizon – Fios, try and compete against home internet connections from cable companies, will we soon see someone break into the market in the next few years and offer bandwidth at a good price with great speed? There is also the upcoming purchase of the wireless airwaves in which one startup hopes to offer it for free! I am hoping so, but with the new release from CNet about Comcast capping their bandwidth, I am unsure if it will happen. Is there any possible breakthrough for ISPs as there was with email services when Gmail came about?
Suggestion for large news sites
by admin on Aug.30, 2008, under Suggestions
Everyone nowadays has video on their websites, which is not always the method people want to receive their news. CNN, MSNBC, and any other large news source needs to understand that while video clips are great for some people, it’s not great for all.
I myself have a hard time watching news clips at work because it may bother those in offices close to mine. Why not have an article that goes along with the video so those that do not or cannot watch the video can still get information that they want. It’s very frustrating to want to see some breaking news but cannot due to the inability to watch the video.
Let me know what you all think and if you think it’s a good idea for news companies to take a little extra time and write a print form of the video news.
Need to unlock a PDF?
by admin on Aug.30, 2008, under Downloads
There are many people that put limitations on their PDF’s and frankly for no reason. Well there are many tools out there that claim to do this, but one that I have found that works great is Advanced PDF Password Recovery. Now they sell it on their site starting at $49 all the way to $399. I would suggest using your Usenet account that we discussed early, only I would use NZBMatrix instead of NewzBin since NewzBin decided to change their sign up. Anyhow, if you already have a reader, click here and download the nzb I have already found for you to get the Elcomsoft Advanced Password Recovery. Before you do, make sure to read the Disclaimer and understand everything.

Here is a table that I found recently about Google’s Page Ranking based on incoming links. I am not sure how accurate it is since Google keeps changing their algorithm, but it is a very interesting thing to note about how many links should be incoming in order to get a certain page rank. This doesn’t seem to factor in content or other things that are (or should be) heavily weighed in Google’s algorithm, but again it’s just very interesting.

by admin on Aug.29, 2008, under Computers, Deals, Free, Merchandise
People want free stuff. I do, my friends do, and I’m sure you do. One site that aims to do this is FreePay.com. Don’t be too skeptical because I myself actually took advantage of their offers and won not only an iPod Shuffle, an iPod 30GB Photo, but a Nikon Digital Camera, and an Xbox.

Firefox vs IE
by admin on Aug.28, 2008, under Computers, Programs
Who is better Firefox or Internet Explorer (IE)? Is it Internet Explorer or Firefox? Well a lot of people would like to think that Internet Explorer is/has caught up, but are wrong. Firefox is the more versatile browser and the reason is simple. Firefox is OPEN SOURCE! The amount of time it takes for things to be “fixed” in Internet Explorer or implement new ideas and deployed is much longer than Firefox. First let’s take a look at a few noticeable things, then get down to the some solid evidence.
